Becoming A Stylist - learn the tools needed to become a stylist and profit!
Hi!
My name is Brianna Wise and I am a stylist based in Los Angeles, California. I have been styling for 10 years now and am finally at a place where I feel I’m living my passion and purpose!
I absolutely love what I do and have worked with celebrities, NBA players, NYFW runway shows, music videos, editorials for magazines including MAXIM Italy, Paper magazine, and Ellegent magazine, commercials, short films, brand styling for major companies like Under Armour, and am now consulting high-end brands.
Although my book of work is amazing the journey itself was not the same. Honestly, it was so challenging I often felt like there is no way this could be my calling.
When you are a stylist you're limited to knowledge and resources that could save you the headache of trying to figure it all out yourself, saving you years of struggle. It shouldn’t be this way!
Nowadays it’s so easy to post a fly pic and hashtag #stylist but it really is a true art, has important fundamentals steps, and requires a business mindset that’s NEEDED to succeed.
After getting to this point in my career I felt it in me to help those wanting to become stylists. There are so many tools and resources unknown that are extremely helpful I would love to share such as:
- How to build your book
- How to find resourceful contacts in the industry
- How to find showrooms and brands
- How to develop your niche
- How to brand yourself
- How to set your rates
- How to find clients
- How to organize invoices and paperwork
- How to mentally prepare yourself as an entrepreneur
These all may seem simple to find when starting out but like I said, it’s limited to where you can find this information.
I’ve also found that so many stylists are seeking to intern for so long instead of trusting themselves to be their own boss. You really have the power to succeed within yourself and if I would have known that before entering into this industry, along with the above tools and resources, I know that it would have saved me years of figuring it out.
However, my journey happened for a reason and I’m so blessed to be exactly where I am right now because I know with everything in me it’s to share my knowledge and resources with you.
